Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora PC Requirements Aren’t Out Of This World

[ad_1]

Ubisoft has revealed the official PC requirements for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, its upcoming first-person action game set on an alien world that humanity has invaded. For a cinematic 1080p experience set at 30fps, the requirements aren’t too heavy. Ubisoft recommends an Nvidia GTX 1070 or an AMD RX 5700 graphics card with 8GB of VRAM for the minimum settings, and ideally, you’ll be able to play the game at 1440p and 60fps using the high presets with a 16GB AMD RX 6800 XT or a 10GB Nvidia RTX 3080 GPU.

If you’re planning to play the game with all of the 4K 60fps bells and whistles enabled, this is where the requirements understandably increase considerably. Ubisoft says that you’ll need a 24GB AMD RX 7900 XTX or 16GB Nvidia RTX 4080 if you’re aiming to max out the graphics on the ultra presets. The one key unifying factor between all the available settings is that you’ll need a solid-state drive with 90GB of storage capacity on it. More PC games are making SSDs a mandatory requirement, although the prices on these quicker drives have fallen dramatically over the last couple of years. These days, it’s not uncommon to pick up a 1TB NVMe SSD for as little as $65.

As for the PC features, Ubisoft added that the game will include ray-traced reflections and shadows, extended graphical settings that allow for granular tweaks to run the game just right on your system, and supprt for AMD’s FSR 2 technology. PC benchmark tools will also be available, so you can test out the game on your hardware before you jump into the main campaign.

Scheduled to launch on December 7, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora casts you as a Na’vi learning to reconnect with their homeland while facing off against the human military corporation known as the RDA. “What’s most interesting about Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, though, is that it might give developer Massive Entertainment an opportunity to improve on the Ubisoft open-world formula at a time when the genre is inspiring more than a little fatigue,” Phil Hornshaw wrote in GameSpot’s hands-on preview.
