“That is included in the investigation’s material. We found the fact that several meetings took place with money handover,” Director of Special Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner, Ade Safri Simanjuntak, noted on Friday.
However, he did not divulge details about the people and amount of money involved.
“Later, we will provide an update of the investigation,” Simanjuntak stated.
Earlier, his side had confiscated several pieces of evidence in the case, including a foreign exchange document in Singapore Dollar (SGD) and American Dollar (USD) denominations from several money changers, with a total value of Rp7.4 billion, from February 2021 to September 2023.
“We also confiscate copies of searching reports, confiscation reports, the custody of found evidence reports, and receipts of confiscation at Limpo’s official residence that contained a disposition sheet of KPK Chairman, with agenda number LD 1231 April 28, 2021,” Simanjuntak remarked.
Polda Metro Jaya has named Bahuri as suspect in the alleged extortion case by the KPK chairman against Limpo on Wednesday (November 22).
“We found sufficient evidence to determine KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri as a suspect in a case of alleged criminal acts of corruption in the form of extortion or receiving gratuities or receiving gifts or promises by civil servants or state administrators related to his position regarding the handling of legal issues at the Agriculture Ministry during 2020-2023,” Simanjutak stated on November 22.
Bahuri was named a suspect as intended in Article 12 e or Article 12 B or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes, as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code.
