Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, a drama that chronicles the creation of the first atomic bomb and one of 2023’s biggest films, will come to Peacock on February 16.
The movie debuted in theaters in July 2023 and was a massive success, bringing in more than $950 million worldwide. It came to DVD and Blu-ray in November, along with digital storefronts where people could buy and rent the film.
For its streaming release, though, Peacock will be the exclusive source for Oppenheimer when it arrives there on February 16. Peacock is owned by NBC Universal, which owns Oppenheimer studio Universal.
Additionally, Peacock will add a few other Nolan movies on February 1, including Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Dunkirk, Inception, and Memento.
Oppenheimer stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the physicist who led the team responsible for creating the first atomic bomb that the US would later drop on Hiroshima and Nagasaki Japan as part of World War II. The cast also includes Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Kenneth Branagh, and Robert Downey Jr.
