Indonesian Restaurant Funding Program itself has opened doors for Indonesian culinary entrepreneurs to achieve success in the international market
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy facilitates financing access to 50 Indonesian culinary businesses overseas through talk shows within the Indonesian Restaurant Fundraising (IndoStar) incubation program.
“Indonesian Restaurant Funding Program itself has opened doors for Indonesian culinary entrepreneurs to achieve success in the international market,” Ministry’s Director for Financing Access Anggara Hayun Anujuprana noted through a statement, Monday.
Anujuprana expects that through the IndoStar program, the Indonesian culinary business can grow and can support the achievement of the Indonesia Spice Up the World national program, specifically expediting the foundation of four thousand Indonesian restaurants overseas by 2024.
Participants can utilize existing opportunities and be actively involved in the IndoStar program, so that they can raise their Indonesian culinary businesses overseas to a higher level, he remarked.
Meanwhile, Head of Financial Technology Financing and Indonesia Spice Up the World Program Working Group at the Ministry Indriani D. Laratu stated that through the activity, Indonesian culinary entrepreneurs are expected to receive broader inspiration and insights.
This can be used to handle challenges and implement the strategy to develop the Indonesian culinary business overseas.
In addition to the strategy to receive financing access, the ministry will facilitate the provision of materials on ways to obtain money, implement business digitalization, conduct financing engineering, and calculate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) in a company, she noted.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Manan Foundation Robert Manan stated that Indonesian culinary entrepreneurs overseas are still struggling to recover from the impacts of COVID-19.
Financing access facilitation from the ministry is one of the forms of support to Indonesian culinary entrepreneurs overseas.
The biggest challenge lies in the fact that there is a lack of branding for Indonesian foods despite the potential for Indonesian cuisines being so vast, he pointed out.
For the medium and long term, the opening of Indonesian restaurants overseas is viewed as being highly prospective since the Indonesian name branding has developed, specifically during President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi’s) administration, he remarked.
