ITDC to manage traffic during AIS Summit with TNI, Polri help

Nusa Dua, Bali (ANTARA) – State-owned Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) will collaborate with military (TNI) and police (Polri) personnel to manage traffic during the Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Summit in Nusa Dua, Badung District, Bali.

“We will coordinate with the TNI/Polri security personnel who will regulate traffic by implementing the (road) open and close scheme when the delegations go to or return from the event venue,” General Manager of ITDC’s The Nusa Dua, I Gusti Ngurah Ardita, said here on Saturday.

Indonesia will host this year’s AIS Summit, which is a platform for island and archipelagic countries to discuss and find solutions to four global issues, namely climate change mitigation and adaptation, blue economy, handling plastic waste in the ocean, and good maritime governance.

The AIS Forum will be held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) on October 10 and 11.

He explained that during the AIS Forum, security checks will be carried out at the entrances of the event area, and they will be in accordance with international standards.

The Nusa Dua is a resort area in the southern part of Bali owned and managed by the ITDC. The tourism area is known as an enclave of large five-star resorts.

The Nusa Dua has three entrances or checkpoints, namely the west and south sides on Nusa Dua Street and the north side on Pratama Tanjung Benoa Street.

Ardita said that Nusa Dua is an integrated area with a 24-hour guaranteed security and safety system that has been tested during several international scale agendas.

Nusa Dua’s security facility consists of 93 personnel, a command center, 2 fire fighting units with 23 personnel, and 143 CCTVs spread across 39 points.

Meanwhile, to support the security of the AIS Summit, the National Police will hold a centralized operation involving 4,083 personnel.

Several TNI personnel will also be readied in the Ring One zone to help secure VVIP guests.
