“Currently, helicopters are one of the modes of transportation needed by people in the country, especially for those who require speed and accessibility for business or personal trips,” said Denon Prawiraatmadja, CEO and founder of Whitesky Group, in a statement released in Jakarta on Saturday.
He made the statement after the signing of a collaboration agreement between PT Whitesky Aviation and Rotortrade on the sidelines of Heli Expo Asia (Hexia) 2023 at CHP in Tangerang, Banten.
Rotortrade is a private company based in Kuala Lumpur engaged in buying and selling second-hand helicopters.
According to Prawiraatmadja, purchasing a new helicopter takes time. While waiting for the purchase, customers can consider buying second-hand helicopters for their business interests. For this reason, Whitesky has prepared an alternative choice for customers who want to own their own helicopter.
“Under this collaboration, Whitesky will also build a helicopter showroom at CHP with the aim of selling a fleet of helicopters so that potential customers can see first-hand the fleet they are purchasing,” Prawiraatmadja said.
Marcello Carrado Salati, Sales Manager for Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa at Rotortrade, expressed optimism about the collaboration.
He acknowledged that Whitesky Aviation is one of the largest unscheduled flight service providers in Indonesia with an extensive customer base and business network.
Salati further stated that his company views the helicopter ownership business in Indonesia as very promising. The geographical location of Indonesia as an archipelagic country makes helicopters an ideal mode of transportation.
“Not only as a mode of transportation to support business, such as for mining, but also as a relief fleet in the event of a disaster or emergency, such as a medical helicopter. Therefore, we see many opportunities and business prospects in Indonesia,” he said.
Ari Nurwanda, Director of Marketing and Business Development at PT Whitesky Aviation, mentioned that some prospective customers prefer to acquire a used helicopter.
Whitesky Aviation is prepared to accommodate them in obtaining what they desire, and prospective buyers will be able to see the helicopters they are interested in at the showroom, he added.
“Having a showroom will make it easier for customers to see and directly acquire various types and brands of helicopters they desire. Potential customers who want to own a helicopter can come directly to CHP or contact Whitesky Aviation,” he said.
